Millions Dash ARCADIA, Calif. (Jan. 26, 2008) – California-bred Bob Black Jack set a world record for six furlongs with a three-length win in Saturday’s $250,000 Sunshine Millions Dash for 3-year-olds over the lightning-fast synthetic surface at Santa Anita. Bob Black Jack is by Stormy Jack, out of the Native Prospector mare Molly’s Prospector, was bred by Gary and Marlene Howard and Bruce Dunmore, was foaled Hideaway Farms and is owned by Jeff Harmon and Tim Kasparoff. “We’re looking to possibly stretching this horse out in his next race,” said trainer James Kasparoff, brother of co-owner Tim Kasparoff. “There’s really not too much for him going short. This was the race we planned on running in.” The $4,500 Barretts purchase has three wins and a second in five starts, earnings of $268,925 and was coming off a 6 ¼-length win in the Dec. 26 California Breeders’ Championship. He re-rallied in midstretch after being headed by runner-up Winsome Charm and was timed in a sizzling 1:06.53. Bob Black Jack was trained by James Kasparoff and ridden by David Flores.
