Cal-bred Trio Enters Oaks

HALLANDALE, Fla. (Jan. 20, 2008) – A trio of California-breds is entered in Saturday’s $250,000 Sunshine Millions Oaks for 3-year-old fillies at Gulfstream Park.

Yogi’ssplashofgold is by Touch Gold, out of the Lucky Lionel mare Yogi’s Polar Bear and was bred by owners Ward, Brewer and Bell Brothers. She has one win in four starts, earnings of $75,014 and is coming off a third in a Jan. 4 allowance.

Lovehi is by Swiss Yodeler, out of the Sharp Victor mare Love Lemhi, was bred by Mikel Harrington and owner Patricia Harrington and was foaled at Pepper Oaks. She has two wins in nine starts, earnings of $101,990 and is coming off a third in the Dec. 29 California Breeders’ Championships.

Billie Bob is by Bring the Heat, out of the Devil’s Bag mare Purgatory, was bred by Wesley Ward, was foaled at Abbott Ranch and is owned by Ward, Roberts and Tanklange. She has one win in five starts, earnings of $38,320 and is making her first start since a seventh in the Aug. 29 Generous Portion.

The top-rated Florida-bred in the race is Blitzing.
