Sunshine Millions Pre-entries ARCADIA, Calif. (Jan. 18, 2007) – A total of 150 pre-entries were taken for the Oct. 27 $3.6 million Sunshine Millions V, for California- and Florida-breds, to be held at Santa Anita and Gulfstream Park. The most popular of the eight races are the $1 million Sunshine Millions Classic and $300,000 Sunshine Millions Filly & Mare Sprint, both to be run at Gulfstream Park, which drew 23 pre-entries each. The smallest field figures to be the $300,000 Sunshine Millions Sprint at Santa Anita, with 14 pre-entries. There are 87 Florida-breds and 63 California-breds pre-entered, with 26 Cal-breds prepared to race at Gulfstream Park and 29 Florida-breds prepared to race at Santa Anita. Three Cal-bred Grade I winners (Lava Man, Bordonaro and Proud Tower Too) and two Florida-bred Grade I winners (Take D’Tour and Swap Fliperoo) are pre-entered. Lava Man is cross entered in the Classic and $500,000 Turf, while Take D’Tour is cross entered in the Classic and $500,000 Distaff. In addition to the Grade I winners, other top-ranked Cal-breds are Somethinaboutlaura in the Distaff and Memorette in the $500,000 Filly & Mare Turf. The post-position draw will be held Sunday.
