Cal-bred Trio in Dash

HALLANDALE, Fla. (Jan. 21, 2007) – Three California-breds with a total of two career victories will travel to Gulfstream Park and compete in Saturday’s $250,000 Sunshine Millions Dash for 3-year-olds, presented by Pepsi.

Idiot Proof is by Benchmark, out of the Bertrando mare Perfectly Pretty and was bred by owners Marty and Pam Wygod. He is returning after a seven-month layoff after winning his lone start June 1 by 7 ½ lengths.

Sarand Star is by Trail City, out of the Star de Naskra mare Star Pepper, was bred by Patricia Youngman and is owned by Archa Racing. The $20,000 Barretts purchase has one win in five starts, earnings of $35,682 and is coming off a seventh in a Jan. 12 optional claimer.

Complexity is by Tribal Rule, out of the Miswaki mare Oh No It’s You and was bred by owners Marty and Pam Wygod. He is a maiden who finished second in his debut and third in his only other start, the Dec. 26 California Breeders Championship.

The highest-ranked Florida-bred contender is Actin Good.
