Cal-breds Turn Out for Oaks

ARCADIA, Calif. (Jan. 21, 2007) – Nine California-bred 3-year-old fillies will duel Florida-bred counterparts in Saturday’s $250,000 Sunshine Millions Oaks, presented by Pepsi, at Santa Anita.

Mistical Plan is by Game Plan, out of the Bel Bolide mare Mistical Bel, was bred by Carol Anderson and is owned by Paul Reddam. She has two wins in six starts, earnings of $98,265 and is coming off a third in the Jan. 6 Santa Ysabel.

Unbeaten A.V. Flynn is by Valid Wager, out of the Bold Ruckus mare Courageously, was bred by Mr. and Mrs. George Chakmankian and is owned by For the Boys Stable. She has won both of her career starts by a combined 17 ¾ lengths but hasn’t run since winning the July 23 Solano County Juvenile Filly.

Prenuptial is by Broken Vow, out of the End Sweep mare Global Finance, was bred by Jerry Dutton Stables and is owned by David and Paula Mueller. The $150,000 Barretts purchase has two wins in seven starts, earnings of $120,190, is coming off a second in the California Breeders Championship and earlier won the Generous Portion.

Hello Bolly is by Swiss Yodeler, out of the Saros mare High Bolly and was bred by owner Richard Glassman. She has one win in 14 starts, earnings of $67,527 and is coming off a fourth in a Jan. 15 optional claimer.

Tiz Elemental is by Cee’s Tizzy, out of the Great Commotion mare Blending Element, was bred by Williamson Racing and is owned by Warren Williamson. She won her only start Dec. 31.

Double Major is by Bertrando, out of the Storm Cat mare Common Hope and was bred by owners Marty and Pam Wygod. She has one win and a fourth in the Dec. 29 California Breeders Championship in two starts and earnings of $32,325.

Toll Road is by Mud Route, out of the Capote mare Caprifoil and was bred by owner Janis Whitman. She won her second start Jan. 6 by seven lengths.

Go Ray Ray is by Mud Route, out of the High Estate mare My Sin, was bred by owners Candace or Jason Wood. The Barretts graduate has two wins in three starts, earnings of $32,800 and is coming off a Jan. 10 starter’s allowance win.

Short Sentence is by Swiss Yodeler, out of the Cee’s Tizzy mare Self Taught, was bred by Mike and Patricia Harrington and is owned by Mike Harrington. She has two wins and two seconds in four starts, earnings of $37,760 and is coming off a Dec. 18 starter’s allowance win.

The stakes-placed High Cholersterol is by Until Sundown, out of the Devil His Due mare Devlish Deva, was bred by Magali Ventures and is owned by Janavar Thoroughbreds. She has two wins in five starts, earnings of $39,360 and is coming off a seventh in the Dec. 17 Hollywood Starlet.

The leading Florida-bred contender is Sekira, a regular nomination.
