Early-bird Noms Due Dec. 7
ARCADIA, Calif. (Nov. 29, 2006) –
Early-bird nominations for the $3.6 million Sunshine Millions, to be run
Saturday, Jan. 27, are due Thursday, Dec. 7. The eight-race series for
horses bred in California and Florida will consist of four races run each
at Santa Anita and Gulfstream Park.
The early-bird nomination fee is
$100 per horse. Regular nominations close Saturday, Jan. 13 at $1,000
each. Pre-entries will be due Wednesday, Jan. 17; the post-position draw
will be Sunday, Jan. 21.
Races to be run at Santa Anita are:
$500,000 Turf; $500,000 Distaff; $300,000 Sprint; $250,000 Oaks. Races to
be run at Gulfstream Park are: $1 million Classic; $500,000 Filly & Mare
Turf; $300,000 Filly & Mare Sprint; $250,000 Dash.
All unplaced shippers will receive
up to $12,500 from the Sunshine Millions Fund.
