Solid Cal-bred Trio in Dash

ARCADIA, Calif. (Jan. 23, 2006) – Stakes winners Da Stoops and Brite Maneuvers and debut winner Plagiarist will represent California-breds in Saturday’s $250,000 Sunshine Millions Dash for 3-year-olds at six furlongs at Santa Anita.

Da Stoops is a Del Mar Yearling Sale graduate by Distorted Humor, out of the Kingdom of Spain mare Glamorous Lady, was bred by Malibu Valley Farm and is owned by Watson & Weitman.

He has two wins in seven starts, earnings of $163,970 and is coming off an 8 ¾-length win in the Dec. 26 California Breeders’ Championship after a second in the Grade III Hollywood Prevue.

Brite Maneuvers is by High Brite, out of the Brocco mare Broccozola, was bred by Curtis Jones and is owned by Howard Roberts Farm. He has three wins in 10 starts, earnings of $135,330 and is coming off a third to Da Stoops in the Cal Breeders’ after winning the California Cup Juvenile.

Plagiarist is by Souvenir Copy, out of the Seattle Slew mare Feature Article, was bred by Betty Mabee and is owned by David Lanzman. The $11,500 Barretts purchase won his debut by an impressive 8 ¼ lengths Dec. 17.

Changing Weather is the top-rated Florida-bred in the race, which drew eight entries and will go off as the third race on the Santa Anita card.
