Sunshine Millions Early Noms Due

ARCADIA, Calif. (Dec. 2, 2005) --
Early-bird nominations for the eight Sunshine Millions races, to be held
Saturday, Jan. 28, close Thursday, Dec. 8, at a fee of $100 per horse.
Regular nominations close Jan. 14
at a fee of $500 per horse. Pre-entries will be taken Jan. 18, the
post-position draw will be Jan. 23.
Sunshine Millions IV, with $3.6
million in purses, showcases horses bred in California and Florida in a
one-day inter-state competition, with four races at Santa Anita and four
races at Gulfstream Park. The event will be televised live on NBC from
1:30-4:00 p.m.
Races to be run at Santa Anita: $1
million Classic, 4-year-olds and up at 1 1/8 miles; $500,000 Filly & Mare
Turf, 4-year-olds and up at 1 1/8 miles on turf; $300,000 Filly & Mare
Sprint, 4-year-olds and up at six furlongs; $250,000 Dash for 3-year-olds
at six furlongs.
Races to be run at Gulfstream Park:
$500,000 Turf for 4-year-olds and up at 1 1/8 on turf; $500,000 Distaff
for fillies and mares 4-year-olds and up at 1 1/8 miles; $300,000 Sprint
for 4-year-olds and up at six furlongs; $250,000 Oaks for 3-year-old
fillies at six furlongs.
