
House of Fortune in Bullet Drill
ARCADIA, Calif. (Jan. 12, 2005) – Grade II winner House of Fortune worked six furlongs on Santa Anita’s “good” main track Wednesday morning in a bullet 1:13 in preparation for the $500,000 Sunshine Millions Distaff at Santa Anita on Jan. 29.
“She went every eighth in :12,” Ron McAnally said of the California-bred daughter of the late Free House. “Gary (Stevens) just gave me the OK sign after the work. It won’t be any problem bringing her up to the race on works.”
First post time at Santa Anita on Sunshine Millions day will be 11:45 a.m. The eight-race, one-day festival will be televised nationally on NBC from 1-3 p.m.
In other Sunshine Millions developments, Bob Baffert said Yearly Report “is doing well” and will train up to the Distaff after missing the La Brea due to a minor ankle ailment.
