Adminniestrator Takes Barretts/CTBA Turf

ARCADIA, Calif. (Jan. 25, 2003) -- Reformed claimer Adminniestrator rallied powerfully in the stretch to nail Music's Storm on the wire and win the $500,000 Barretts/CTBA Turf Saturday to become the first California-bred winner in the inaugural $3.6 million Sunshine Millions at Santa Anita.

Adminniestrator is a 6-year-old son of Incinderator, out of the Golden Eagle II mare Admiral Minnie, and was bred by Fred Sahadi. He was coming off a Dec. 19 optional claiming win.

The nose victory was Adminniestrator's second in a stakes after his Apr. 28 win in the Quicken Tree Stakes on Gold Rush Day, and his eighth win overall in 34 races. The $275,000 first-place check raised his career earnings to $722,201.

Adminniestrator was a $50,000 claim in June, 2001. He was ridden by David Flores and trained by Patrick Gallagher for owner Nico Nierenberg..
