Friends Lake Cal-bred Tops Barretts Sale

POMONA, Calif. (Oct. 3, 2007) – A California-bred colt by Friends Lake topped the California’s October Yearling Sale, co-hosted by Barretts Equine and the California Thoroughbred Breeders Association.

The sale-topper went for $150,000 and was purchased by pinhooker Bruno De Berdt, Agent, who told Thoroughbred Times the colt would be sold at Barretts 2-Year-Old in Training Sale in March. He was bred by AJM Properties and was sold for $95,000 at the Fasig Tipton July Yearling Sale.

A Swiss Yodeler filly sold for $140,000 to William Peeples from the consignment of B.C.3. Thoroughbreds, agent for Early Equine. She was bred by Patricia Youngman.

Other six-figure sales were a colt by Congaree, purchased for $130,000 by Brian Koriner and bred by Rancho San Miguel; and a colt by In Excess, purchased for $110,000 by Bluegrass Industries/B.J. Wright and bred by Shields Thoroughbreds.
