Cal-Breds Under Consideration
for Great State Challenge
ARCADIA, Calif. (Nov. 8, 2002) -- These horses, listed alphabetically, are under consideration to represent California in the Dec. 7 $1.65 million NTRA Great State Challenge, a series of six races to be run at Sam Houston Race Park in Houston, Tex:
Classic -- Calkins Road, Continental Red, Grey Memo, Hot Market, Slippery When Bet
Distaff -- Bear Fan, Broke The Slump, Elaine's Angel, Nicole's Pursuit, Super High
Turf -- Adminniestrator, Continental Red, Ninebanks, Spinelessjellyfish, Turkish Prize
Sprint -- Disturbingthepeace, Echo Eddie, Hot Market, Stormy Jack, Unlimited Value
Juvenile -- Crackup, Excessive Barb, Only The Best, Sailinwithcaptain, Timely Jeff
Juvenile Fillies -- Global Finance, Humorous Lady, Stonecoldfox, Summer Wind Dancer, Tizalovelylady
The CTBA will supply a ranked list of the above mentioned horses to the NTRA/Breeders Cup. Each race is worth $275,000 ($175,000 guaranteed, with $50,000 each from Breeders’ Cup Fund – for Breeders’ Cup Nominees only – and Participating State Bred Funds). At least one horse from each participating state will be invited.
