$150,000 Fran’s Valentine Stakes INGLEWOOD, Calif. (Apr. 27, 2008) - Tutta Bella, in a perfectly timed front-running ride by Garrett Gomez, ran her win streak to three by taking Sunday’s $150,000 Fran’s Valentine Stakes for California-bred fillies and mares, the opening race on the $1.31 million Gold Rush card at Hollywood Park. Tutta Bella is by Holy Bull, out of the Red Ransom mare Griselda, was bred by owner Pam Ziebarth, was foaled at Harris Farms and is trained by John Sadler. "We’ve always had high hopes for her and she’s always been doing well and now she’s just getting a little better," said Sadler. "This is her third race in a row, so we’re going to give her about six weeks, then we’ll try open company before the Cal-breds again." She has four wins in 10 starts, earnings of $252,720 and was coming off consecutive optional claiming wins. She was fourth in the Magali Farms on last year’s Gold Rush card. Comedy Girl was second and Swiss Current third in the field of five. Tutta Bella won by a neck, went off as the 2-1 second choice and ran the 1 1/16 miles on turf in 1:41.87. "When that other mare came up alongside, she started digging in," said Gomez. "She’s a nice filly and I’m glad to be able to come in and ride her."
