Snow Chief is Wide Open

INGLEWOOD, Calif. (Apr. 24, 2008) - This year’s $250,000 Snow Chief Stakes is a wild scramble of 13 California-bred 3-year-olds in the feature event of Sunday’s Gold Rush card at Hollywood Park.

Harlene is by Decarchy, out of the Chief’s Crown mare Tiara Glow, was bred by Magali Ventures, foaled at Magali Farms, is owned by Claimboxdotcom, Royce Jaime Stable and W C Racing and is trained by Doug O’Neill. The $29,000 Barretts purchase is a maiden making his seventh start.

One Chin Again is by Beau Genius, out of the Flying Continental mare Flying Lesson, was bred J. P. Reddam, was foaled at Vessels Stallion Farm, is owned by Reddam, Fuller and Kovel and is trained by Doug O’Neill. He is a maiden making his sixth start.

Waafi is by Benchmark, out of the Devil’s Bag mare Nymphette, was bred by owner Janavar Thoroughbreds, was foaled at Magali Farms and is trained by Marty Jones. He has one win in four starts, earnings of $32,440 and is coming off an eighth in a Mar. 28 allowance.

Rosso Corsa is by Ferrari, out of the Prized mare Prized Possession, was bred by Charlotte Wrather, was foaled at Cottonwood Ranch, is owned by Ernenwein, Wrather and Wrather and is trained by Darrell Vienna. He has one win in three starts, earnings of $22,600 and is coming off a 10th in the Apr. 5 Santa Anita Derby.

Bert’s Law is by Bertrando, out of the Pirate’s Bounty mare Digby, was bred by Marty and Pam Wygod, was foaled at River Edge Farm, is owned by Curt and Lila Lanning and trained by Ed Moger. The $18,000 Barretts purchase has three wins in nine starts, earnings of $84,752 and is coming off a fifth in a Mar. 24 optional claimer.

Dewey’s Special is by Skimming, out of the Prized mare Shewalksinbeauty, was bred by Cardiff Farm Management, was foaled at Cardiff Stud Farm, is owned by Moore Racing and trained by Ron Ellis. The $2,200 Barretts purchase has one win in six starts, earnings of $44,280 and is coming off a third in an Apr. 4 allowance.

Storm Dragon is by Storm Creek, out of the In Excess mare Shred the Excess, was bred by McCormick and Son, was foaled at Harris Farms, is owned by Brous Stable and Wachtel Stable and trained by Eduardo Inda. He is a maiden making his third start.

Nitro Active is by Capsized, out of the Pirate’s Bounty mare That’s Mine, was bred by BnD Chase Thoroughbreds, was foaled at Special T Thoroughbreds, is owned by Flintridge Stables, Venneri Racing and Brian Koriner and is trained by Koriner. He has two wins in four starts, earnings of $42,652 and is coming off a third in an Apr. 3 allowance.

The $17,000 Barretts purchase has two wins in three starts, earnings of $39,520 and is coming off a sixth in a Mar. 27 allowance.

Warrens Attack Cat is by Bartok, out of the Quiet American mare Pinctada, was bred by owner Benjamin Warren, was foaled at Warren’s Thoroughbreds and is trained by Jorge Gutierrez. He has two wins in 10 starts, earnings of $52,580 and is coming off a sixth in the Apr. 12 La Puente.
