Grade I Winners Meet in Tiznow

INGLEWOOD, Calif. (Apr. 24, 2008) - Grade I winning sprinters Bilo and Johnny Eves take on a former winner of this race in Lucky J. H. in Sunday’s $150,000 Tiznow Stakes at 7 ½ furlongs on Hollywood Park’s Gold Rush card.

Bilo is by Bertrando, out of the Devil’s Bag mare Raffie’s Bag, was bred by Ed Nahem, foaled at River Edge Farm and is owned by Scott and Wayne Anastasi and Dan Capen. He has seven wins in 16 starts, earnings of $524,036 and is coming off a sixth in the Jan. 26 Sunshine Millions Classic. He was third in this race last year and was second in the Golden Eagle on the 2004 Gold Rush Card.

Johnny Eves is by Skimming, out of the Capote mare Capote’s Halo, was bred by owners Mooncoin LLC and was foaled at Ridgeley Farms. He has five wins in 13 starts, earnings of $377,720 and is coming off a fifth in the Apr. 5 Potrero Grande.

Medzendeekron is by Unusual Heat, out of the Cozzene mare Fleet Sparrow, was bred by Abrams/Nakkashian/Roberts and was foaled at Old English Rancho. He has three wins in 12 starts, earnings of $181,252 and is coming off a third in the Apr. 12 Commonwealth.

Stella Mark is by Benchmark, out of the Deputy Minister mare Social Savvy, was bred by Marty and Pam Wygod, was foaled at River Edge Farm, is owned by Jeff Sengara and trained by Ted West.
