Tiz a Blend High Weight in Fran’s Valentine

INGLEWOOD, Calif. (Apr. 24, 2008) - Recent stakes winner Tiz a Blend is the high weight in a field of six for the $150,000 Fran’s Valentine Stakes for fillies and mares, kicking off the $1.3 million Gold Rush card at Hollywood Park.

Tiz a Blend is by Cee’s Tizzy, out of the Great Commotion mare Blending Element, was bred by Williamson Racing, foaled at Harris Farms, owned by Warren Williamson and trained by Carla Gaines. She has three wins in 10 starts, earnings of $172,854 and is coming off a win in the Apr. 6 Valentine Dancer. She is a full sister to Tiz Elemental, winner of last year’s Melair Stakes.

Swiss Current is by Swiss Yodeler, out of the Thunder Gulch mare Brilliant Thunder, was bred by owner Tailwind Racing, foaled at Pegasus Ranch and is trained by Doug O’Neill. She has three wins in 20 starts, earnings of $246,966 and is coming off a fifth in the Valentine Dancer. She was ninth in last year’s Melair Stakes on the Gold Rush card.

Mood Winner is by Comic Strip, out of the Relaunch mare Peaceable Mood, was bred by owner Robert Wright, was foaled at Special T Thoroughbreds and is trained by Marcelo Polanco. She has two wins in 11 starts, earnings of $87,432 and is coming off a sixth in the Valentine Dancer.

Lightmyfirebaby is by Unusual Heat, out of the Valid Appeal mare True Melody, was bred by Abrams, Johnson, Nakkashian and Wick, was foaled at Old English Rancho, is owned by Richard O’Neill Trust and is trained by Barry Abrams. She has five wins in 17 starts, earnings of $293,546 and is coming off a win via disqualification in the Apr. 13 Las Cienegas.

Comedy Girl is by Comic Strip, out of the Relaunch a Tune mare Musical Girl, was bred by BnD Chase Thoroughbreds, was foaled at Special T Thoroughbreds, is owned by BnD, Z Thoroughbreds, Burgess, et al. She has four wins in 12 starts, earnings of $128,302 and is coming off a third in the Mar. 17 Irish O’Brien.

Tutta Bella is by Holy Bull, out of the Red Ransom mare Griselda, was bred by owner Pam Ziebarth, was foaled at Harris Farms and is trained by John Sadler. She has three wins in nine starts, earnings of $162,720 and is coming off consecutive optional claiming wins. She was fourth in the Magali Farms on last year’s Gold Rush card.
