$200,000 Melair Stakes INGLEWOOD, Calif. (Apr. 29, 2007) – Favored Tiz Elemental spurted clear in the final sixteenth to win Sunday’s $200,000 Melair Stakes for California-bred 3-year-old fillies on Hollywood Park’s Gold Rush VIII card. Tiz Elemental is by Cee’s Tizzy, out of the Great Commotion mare Blending Element, was bred by Williamson Racing and is owned by Warren Williamson. She was trained by Carla Gaines and ridden by Victor Espinoza, his second win on the card. Williamson and Gaines combined to take the Fran’s Valentine Stakes with Nashoba’s Key earlier on the card. Tiz Elemental has three wins in five starts, earnings of $237,680 and was coming off a win in an optional claimer. She ran the 1 1/16 miles in 1:45.51 and won by 1 ½ lengths.
