Gold Rush VIII on Sunday

INGLEWOOD, Calif. (Apr. 27, 2007) – Grade I winners Romance is Diane, Greg’s Gold and Debonair Joe are among the entries in Sunday's $1.3 million Gold Rush VIII program at Hollywood Park, a 10-race card for California-breds.

The program contains six stakes with purses ranging from $150,000 to $250,000 and four races for maidens and allowance-class horses.

The feature event is the $250,000 Cal National Snow Chief Stakes, where multiple stakes winner Pirates Deputy is expected to be favored.

The only winner from last year back to defend her title is Fran’s Valentine champion Memorette.

Graded winner Areyoutalkintome could become the 46th California-bred millionaire with a win in the $150,000 Tiznow Stakes. He has $926,254 in earnings and currently ranks 50th on the all-time Cal-bred list.

Somethinaboutlaura is the lead-ing earner entered in the $150,000 B. Thoughtful Stakes at $632,020. She was second in the race a year ago.

The most popular races for horsemen were the two allowance-class races, which drew 14 and 15.

Hollywood Park will be offering a guaranteed $1 million Pick Six and will distribute a Hollywood Park sports bag free with each paid admission.
