Melair Draws Romance is Diane
INGLEWOOD, Calif. (Apr. 24, 2007) –
Grade I winner Romance is Diane leads a field of 10 California-bred
3-year-old fillies entered in Sunday’s $200,000 Melair Stakes on Hollywood
Park’s Gold Rush VIII card.
Beyond the Mark is by Benchmark,
out of the Kris S. mare Rufaro, was bred by Marty and Pam Wygod and is
owned by Ashby Thoroughbreds. The $6,000 Barretts purchase has two wins in
six starts, earnings of $44,980 and is coming off a second in a Mar. 9
optional claimer.
Curiously Sweet is by Mud Route,
out of the Pirate’s Bounty mare Ilona, was bred by Milt Policzer and is
owned by Barber & Barber. She is coming off a maiden win in her third
start and has earnings of $34,760.
Eastlake Avenue is by Globalize,
out of the Pine Bluff mare Dos Margaritas and was bred by owner George
