Areyoutalkintome Tries Again
INGLEWOOD, Calif. (Apr. 25, 2007) –
Areyoutalkintome hopes the third time is the charm as Sunday he takes on a
pair of Grade I winner in the $150,000 Tiznow Stakes for California-breds
at 7 ½ furlongs at Hollywood Park on Gold Rush VIII Day.
Graded winner Areyoutalkintome is
by Smokester, out of the Storm Bird mare Andrea Gail, was bred by John
Toffan and Trudy McCaffery and is owned by Manzni or Sarno. He has nine
wins in 45 starts, earnings of $926,254 and is coming off a second in an
Apr. 5 optional claimer. The $10,000 Barretts purchase was fifth in this
race in 2005 and second last year.
Bilo is by Bertrando, out of the
Devil’s Bag mare Raffle’s Bag, was bred by Ed Nahem and is owned by King
Edward. He has four wins in 11 starts, earnings of $196,256 and is making
his first start since finishing eighth in last year’s California Cup
Sprint.
Cigar Pal is by Benchmark, out of
the Palace Music mare Palace Madame, was bred by Valerie Naify and is
owned by Naify & Scaler. He has three wins in nine starts, earnings of
$88,780 and is making his first start since finishing fifth in the Los
Angeles Handicap last May.
Grade I winner Debonair Joe is by
Ole, out of the Debonair Roger mare Malita, was bred by Craig Lewis and
Mira Loma Thoroughbred Farm and is owned by Joe Valenti. He has nine wins
in 47 starts, earnings of $571,876 and is coming off an Apr. 4 win when he
was claimed for $40,000.
Graded winner Desert Boom is by
Boomerang, out of the Desert Wine mare Sand Dance, was bred by Van Mar
Farms and is owned by Robert Bone. He has 15 wins in 40 starts, earnings
of $702,412 and is coming off a fourth in an Apr. 5 optional claimer.
Grade I winner Greg’s Gold is by
Lake George, out of the Fit to Fight mare Lake Windermere and was bred by
owner Bill Boswell. He has five wins in 15 starts, earnings of $440,068
and is coming off a second in the Apr. 7 Potrero Grande Handicap. The
Barretts graduate was third in this race last year with a troubled trip.
He’s the Rage is by Soft Gold, out
of the Hansel mare Interaction, was bred by Southern Nevada Racing Stable
and is owned by Belmonte or Bongo Racing Stable or Cohen. He has seven
wins in 25 starts, earnings of $408,324 and is coming off a Mar. 28 win
when he was claimed for $50,000.
Only One Way is by Tinners Way, out
of the Skywalker mare Vaderette, was bred by Harris Farms & Sheila
Williams and is owned by Gregory Unruh. The $50,000 Barretts purchase has
five wins in 11 starts, earnings of $127,314 and is coming off a third
Apr. 7 when he was claimed for $40,000. This is his stakes debut.
Scottsbluff is by Siberian Summer,
out of the Air Forbes Won mare Foreverinasong, was bred by Dr. Sheldon
Schoneberg and is owned by Dennis Weir. The $11,000 Barretts purchase has
four wins in 13 starts, earnings of $176,106 and is coming off a second in
the Mar. 18 Crystal Water.
Seminole Native is by Lil Tyler,
out of the Magic Prospect mare Lake Okeechobee, was bred by Madera
Thoroughbreds and is owned by E.Z. Eight Racing Stable, Henig, Venneri
Racing, et al. He has two wins in nine starts, earnings of $58,720 and is
coming off a sixth in a Mar. 31 allowance.
