$150,000 Tiznow Stakes
LUCKY J. H.

INGLEWOOD, Calif. (Apr. 30, 2006) –
Favored Lucky J. H. survived a stewards inquiry after a bumping incident
in the stretch to win Sunday’s $150,000 Tiznow Stakes for California-breds
on Gold Rush Day VII at Hollywood Park.
Lucky J. H. is a 4-year-old colt by
Cee’s Tizzy, out of the A.P. Indy mare Lucky C. H. and was bred by owner
Harris Farms. He has four wins in 10 starts, earnings of $270,435 and was
coming off a Feb. 20 allowance win. He was trained by Carla Gaines and
ridden by Victor Espinoza.
Lucky J. H., in recording his first
stakes victory, ran the 7 ˝ furlongs in 1:28.25 as the 9-5 favorite.
Areyoutalkintome and jockey Pat Valenzuela, who came out to bump Lucky J.
H. hard inside as they straightened into the stretch, finished a head back
with Real Temptation third.
This was only the second start
after a 10-month layoff for Lucky J. H., who previously finished second in
last year’s Snow Chief Stakes on Gold Rush Day.
