Bai and Bai Seeks Third Stakes Win
INGLEWOOD, Calif. (Apr. 27, 2006) –
Multiple stakes winner Bai and Bai, a graduate of the Northern California
Yearling Sale, is the high weight in Sunday’s $200,000 Melair Stakes for
California-bred 3-year-old fillies at 1 1/16 miles on Hollywood Park’s
Gold Rush Day card.
Bai and Bai is by Falstaff, out of
the Fappiano mare Bai Shun, was bred by Mares Nest and is owned by Vinson
& Wilson. The $3,200 purchase at the Northern California Yearling Sale has
four wins in nine starts, earnings of $165,223 and is coming off a second
in the Apr. 8 San Ramon. She’s won the California Cup Juvenile Fillies and
the Telegraph Hill.
Katies Mark is by Benchmark, out of
the Flying Paster mare Living Waters, was bred by Gary and Robert Denny
and is owned by Bisharat or Bisharat. Claimed three races back for
$40,000, she broke her maiden in her sixth try Mar. 30.
Stakes winner Seam Seeker is by
Bertrando, out of the Pirate’s Bounty mare Wisdom Keeper, was bred by
Marty and Pam Wygod and is owned by Rancho Santiago. She has three wins in
eight starts, earnings of $114,535 and is coming off a third in the Mar.

Chosen Royalty is by In Excess, out
of the King of Kings mare Her Royalty, was bred by Old English Rancho &
Headley and is owned by Headley, Johnston & Johnston. She has two wins in
three starts, earnings of $69,528 and is coming off a third in the Apr. 8
Providencia. She is the full sister to multiple stakes winner Royally
Chosen.
Princess Kinzie is by Globalize,
out of the Flying Paster mare Almocita, was bred by Granja Vista del Rio
and is owned by Always Believe. She has one win in five starts, earnings
of $43,465 and is coming off an eighth in a Mar. 25 optional claimer.
Rocket Kitty is by Rocket Cat, out
of the Saratoga Six mare Cayman Holiday, was bred by Luiza Degwitz and is
owned by Steve Taub. She broke her maiden in her fifth start Mar. 29.
More Angels is by Slew of Angels,
out of the Falstaff mare Falmora, was bred by Madera Thoroughbreds and is
owned by Equils or Equils or Knapp. She has two wins in 14 starts,
earnings of $114,900 and is coming off a second in an Apr. 15 optional
claimer, one race after being claimed for $50,000.
She’s an Eleven is by In Excess,
out of the Flying Sensation mare She’s a Sensation, was bred by Old
English Rancho and Joe Turner and is owned by C R K Stable. She broke her
maiden by 11 ¼ lengths in her fifth start Mar. 2 and has never finished
out of the money.
Marciamarciamarcia is by Cee’s
Tizzy, out of the Prospector’s Halo mare Matt’s Choice, was bred by Larry
Williams and is owned by O’Neill or Scott or Wong. She has two wins in 10
starts, earnings of $65,440 and is coming off a second in a Mar. 30
optional claimer after being claimed for $20,000.
