$60,000 Magali Farms Stakes

Tyrolean Empress
INGLEWOOD, Calif. (Apr. 30, 2006) –
Longshot Tyrolean Empress re-rallied at the head of the stretch to win
Sunday’s $60,000 Magali Farms Stakes for maiden fillies and mares at
Hollywood Park.
Tyrolean Empress is a 3-year-old
filly by Swiss Yodeler, out of the Synastry mare Queen of Synastry and was
bred by owner Heinz Steinmann. She was trained by Mike Harrington and
ridden by Jon Court.
Tyrolean Empress went off at 24-1
and was making her eighth career start, coming off a second in a maiden
$80,000 claimer Apr. 13. She ran the 6 ½ furlongs ion 1:16.69 and won by
one length over Tiz a Gem, who stuck her nose in front turning for home,
with Night Power finishing third.
