Gold Rush Entries Thursday

INGLEWOOD, Calif. (Apr. 26, 2006) -- Entries for Sunday’s $1.3 million Gold Rush Day VII will be taken Thursday.

Gold Rush VII consists of 10 stakes races, highlighted by the $250,000 Snow Chief Stakes for 3-year-olds. Among expected participants is Sam’s Ace, fourth in the Florida Derby.

Santa Anita Handicap winner Lava Man is being considered for the $150,000 TVG Khaled Stakes at 1 1/8 miles on the new turf course. A winner of more than $2 million overall, he is 3-for-9 on turf.

There were 283 nominations taken for the 10 Gold Rush races.
