INGLEWOOD, Calif. (Apr. 24, 2005) – Unfurl the Flag scored his first career stakes win Sunday with a victory in the $150,000 Tiznow Stakes for California-breds on the Gold Rush VI card at Hollywood Park.

Unfurl the Flag is by Bertrando, out of the Storm Cat mare Escape the Storm, was bred by Marty and Pam Wygod and is owned by Gaylord Ailshie, Tom Harris, Bruce Rose, et al. He has five wins in 17 starts, earnings of $310,407 and was coming off a third in a Mar. 20 allowance.

Unfurl the Flag ran the 7 ½ furlongs in 1:27.49. He was trained by David Bernstein, ridden by Corey Nakatani and went off at odds of 5-1. El Don finished second and Greg’s Gold was third.
