Texcess Seeks Rebound in Snow Chief
INGLEWOOD, Calif. (Apr. 21, 2005) – Texcess is the leading earner, but Thor’s Echo is the high weight in Sunday’s $250,000 Snow Chief Stakes for California-bred 3-year-olds, the headliner of the Gold Rush card at Hollywood Park.
Texcess is by In Excess, out of the Regal Classic mare Danish Alamode, was bred by Ron Gomez and is owned by Aguirre and Alddabagh. The $85,000 Barretts purchase has three wins in seven starts, including the $1 million Delta Jackpot, and has earnings of $763,427, but is coming off a distant ninth in the Mar. 26 Lanes End.
Thor’s Echo is by Swiss Yodeler, out of the Mr. Integrity mare Helen of Troy, was bred by Fast Lane Farms and is owned by Royce Jaime Racing. He has two wins in four starts, earnings of $321,560 and is coming off an upset win in the WinStar Derby.
Tommy’s Topper is by Old Topper, out of the Meadowlake mare Lakeside Lady, was bred by Tommy Town Thoroughbreds and is owned by David and Holly Wilson. He has two wins, $112,128 in earnings and is coming off a fifth in the Mar. 19 Pasadena Stakes.
New Cloud is by Memo, out of the Skywalker mare Avrila, was bred by The Hat Ranch West and is owned by The Hat Ranch. He broke his maiden in his ninth start Mar. 4.
Robador is by Robannier, out of the Falstaff mare Ivory Bowl and was bred by owner Robert Walter Family Trust. He’s a maiden after seven starts.
Proud Tower Too is by Proud Irish, out of the Irish Tower mare Dora’s Tower and was bred by owner Tricar Stables. He has one win in four starts and is making his first run since finishing second in the Sept. 6 I’m Smokin Stakes.
Top This and That is by Old Topper, out of the Theatrical mare Emily Ann, was bred by Tommy Town Thoroughbreds and is owned by Mr. and Mrs. J. Hayes. He has two wins in four starts and is coming off a Mar. 30 starter’s allowance win.
Lucky J. H. is by Cee’s Tizzy, out of the A.P. Indy mare Lucky C. H. and was bred by owner Harris Farms. He has two wins in seven starts, was disqualified from a third victory, has earnings of $87,535 and is coming off a sixth in the Mar. 19 San Felipe Stakes.
