Valentine Dancer Leads Fran’s Valentine Field
INGLEWOOD, Calif. (Apr. 21, 2005) – Valentine Dancer attempts to become the newest California-bred millionaire in Sunday’s $150,000 Fran’s Valentine Stakes for fillies and mares on the Gold rush card at Hollywood Park.
Valentine Dancer is by In Excess, out of the Mr. Prospector mare Gilded Dancer and was bred by owners Al and Sandee Kirkwood. She has seven wins in 21 starts, earnings of $918,126 and is coming off a third in the Mar. 20 Santa Ana Handicap after winning the Sunshine Millions Filly & Mare Turf for the second time. She was sixth in this race last year.
Smokegetenyoureyes is by Smokester, out of the Solar Launch mare Toddy, was bred by Bonnie Seltzer and is owned by Peter Prousalis. She has five wins in 21 starts, $122,060 in earnings and is coming off an Apr. 15 allowance win.
Blind Ambition is by Political Ambition, out of the Relaunch mare Reclass and was bred by owner Harris Farms. She has four wins in 10 starts and earnings of $291,705 and is coming off a second in the Mar. 17 Irish O’Brien, her first race in 15 months. She also was entered in Saturday’s Wilshire Handicap.
Garden Whimsy is by Bertrando, out of the Never Tabled mare Seed Case and was bred by owners Marty and Pam Wygod. She has three wins in nine starts, $100,308 in earnings and is coming off a seven-length win in an Apr. 1 allowance.
Scrofa is by Unusual Heat, out of the Flying Victor mare Maestra Mia, was bred by Costas Constantino and is owned by Aldabbagh & Stoddard. She has six wins in 19 starts, earnings of $296,495 and is coming off a win in the Mar. 17 Irish O’Brien and also won the Work the Crowd Handicap in December.
Deputy Tombe is by Deputy Commander, out of the Chief’s Crown mare Epi Tombe and was bred by owner St. George’s Farm. She has three wins in 12 starts, earnings of $122,786 and is coming off a ninth in the Irish O’Brien.
