B. Thoughtful Before Running

INGLEWOOD, Calif. (Apr. 21, 2005) – Grade I winners Dream of Summer and Alphabet Kisses are the co-high weights for Sunday’s tough $150,000 B. Thoughtful Stakes for California-bred fillies and mares on the Gold Rush card at Hollywood Park.

Dream of Summer is by Siberian Summer, out of the Skywalker mare Mary’s Dream and was bred by owner James Weigel. She is wheeling back 15 days after winning the Grade I Apple Blossom, her eighth win in 13 starts, that raised her career earnings to $844,650.

Alphabet Kisses is by Alphabet Soup, out of the Saratoga Six mare Kiss for Six and was bred by owner Harris Farms. She has five wins in 10 starts, earnings of $366,909, is coming off a fourth in the Sunshine Millions Distaff and won the Grade I La Brea.

Thunder’s Echo is by Swiss Yodeler, out of the Time to Explode mare King’s Thunder, was bred by Derek Meredith and is owned by Hagger Honore. She has three wins, earnings of $143,754 and is coming off a fourth in an Apr. 7 allowance.

Market Garden is a multiple stakes winner by Bold Badgett, out of the mare Margaret’s Native, was bred by S L U Inc. and is owned by Sid and Jenny Craig. She has six wins in 34 starts, earnings of $363,958 and is coming off a seventh in the Irish O’Brien.

Strut Your Stuff is also by Bold Badgett, out of the Silveyville mare Winning in Style, was bred by Old English Rancho and is owned by E.W. and Judy Johnston. She has two wins, earnings of $97,893 and is coming off a second in an Apr. 9 allowance.

Tucked Away is by Unusual Heat, out of the Be a Native mare Chemolo, was bred by Madeline Auerbach and is owned by Nico Nierenberg. She has four wins in 25 starts, earnings of $348,301 and is coming off a fifth in the Irish O’Brien. She was third in this race a year ago.

Five Star Meeting is by General Meeting, out of the Star de Naskra mare Star Eighty Eight, was bred by Clydene Boots and is owned by The Merv Griffin Ranch. The $50,000 Barretts purchase has four wins in 14 starts, earnings of $154,444 and is coming off an 11th in the Irish O’Brien.

Del Mar Yearling Sale and Barretts graduate Run Rebecca Run is by Swiss Yodeler, out of the Strawberry Road mare Strawberry’s Best, was bred by Patricia Youngman and is owned by Ed Friendly. She has four wins in 15 starts, earnings of $161,820 and is coming off a sixth in the Irish O’Brien.

Mini Skirt is by Wild Again, out of the Summer Time Guy mare Summer Dress, was bred by The Hat Ranch West and is owned by The Hat Ranch. She has two wins, $69,500 in earnings and is coming off a Mar. 390 allowance win.
