Da Bear Fan Will B. Thoughtful

INGLEWOOD, Calif. (Apr. 21, 2004) -- Graded stakes winner Bear Fan is the 124-pound high weight in Saturday's $150,000 B. Thoughtful Stakes for California-bred fillies and mares at seven furlongs on the Gold Rush card at Hollywood Park.

Bear Fan is by Pine Bluff, out of the Shimatoree mare Shezalong, was bred by Wesley Ward and is owned by Ward and Peter Fan. She is coming off consecutive stakes wins in the Blaze O'Brien and the Grade II Barbara Fritchie Handicap. She has earnings of $406,125.

Royally Chosen is by In Excess, out of the King of Kings mare Her Royalty, was bred by Old English Rancho and is owned by Abruzzo and Headley. She won the California Cup Matron, is Grade I placed and has $357,638 in earnings.

Cyber Slew is by Siberian Summer, out of the Slew o' Gold mare Truly Golden, was bred by Kevin Carey and is owned by Rancho Ballena. She is a stakes-placed winner of $144,738 who was fifth in the Mar. 17 Irish O'Brien.

Tucked Away is by Unusual Heat, out of the Be a Native mare Chemolo, was bred by Madeline Auerback and is owned by Nico Nierenberg. She won the Fleet Treat Stakes last July and hasn't won since. She has $192,288 in earnings.

Icantgoforthat is by In Excess, out of the Copelan mare Texinadress, was bred by Michael Pegram and is owned by Broberg and Knapp. She won the Survive Stakes and Monrovia Handicap and has $406,024 in earnings.

Grant Marty a Wish is by Beautiful Crown, out of the Pirate's Bounty mare Grant Maker, was bred by Martin Bach and is owned by John Doyle. She is looking for her first stakes win but has $282,500 in earnings.

Princess V. is by Memo, out of the Fort Calgary mare Fort Silver, was bred by owner Ken Porter. She is coming off a hard-fought nose win in the Cactus Flower Handicap at Turf Paradise Apr. 10, raising her earnings to $197,209. She was second in last year's Melair Stakes.

Summer Wind Dancer is by Sibertian Summer, out of the Incinderator mare Native Wind Dancer, was bred by Richard and Yvette Wira, Linda Vetter and Deborah Penn and is owned by Vetter and Wira. She was a multiple stakes winner as a 2-year-old and is coming off a second in the Apr. 4 Santa Lucia Handicap. She has $320,602 in earnings.

Bold Roberta is by Bold Badgett, out of the Prospectors Gamble mare Roberta Ullmann, was bred by owner S L U Inc. She won a pair of stakes at Fairplex Park last year and is coming off a third in the Mar. 17 Irish O'Brien. She has $431,125 in earnings.
