Gold Rush Entries Drawn Wednesday INGLEWOOD, Calif. (Apr. 19, 2004) --Entries will be drawn Wednesday for Saturday's $1.31 million California Gold Rush V, an event of 10 stakes races exclusively for California-breds at Hollywood Park. The feature race is the $250,000 Snow Chief Stakes for 3-year-olds at 1 1/8 miles. Among the 20 nominees are Don’tsellmeshort, Cheiron and O. K. Mikie. Horses may be supplemented for $5,000. The richest race for females is the $200,000 Melair Stakes for 3-year-old fillies at 1 1/16 miles. Among the 14 nominees are Allswellthatnswell, House of Fortune, Silent Sighs and Yearly Report. The supplementary entry fee is $4,000. Four of the races -- the Golden Eagle Farm Stakes, Pepper Oaks Farm Stakes, Warren's Thoroughbreds' Stakes, and Magali Farms Stakes -- qualify for black type only under stakes rules, not black type rules.
