Cal Cup Handle Jumps
ARCADIA, Calif. (Nov. 4, 2007) –
Total handle for Saturday’s California Cup XVIII was $16,852,200, up 14
percent from last year’s Cal Cup and the highest total since 2002.
On-track attendance was 25,763, up
slightly from 25,436 last year, while on-track handle was $3,778,739,
down from last year’s total of $3,992,570, and off-track handle of
$3,788,174 was down from last year’s total of $3,868,237.
The big increase came from
out-of-state wagering, which was $9,285,286, compared to $6,931,550 last
year, an increase of 34 percent.
