$50,000 AM 570 KLAC Cal Cup Starter Handicap

ARCADIA, Calif. (Nov. 3, 2007) – Longshot Lil Mitch, fourth in the race two years ago, burst to the front as they turned for home and rolled to a three-length win in the $50,000 AM 570 KLAC California Cup Starter Handicap at Oak Tree at Santa Anita.

Lil Mitch is by Lil Tyler, out of the Nijinsky’s Secret mare Asta Pasta, was bred by Jack Weinstein, was foaled at Madera Thoroughbreds, is owned by Allen, Lindo, Meguiar, et al, ridden by Richard Migliore and trained by Bill Spawr.

He has three wins in 28 starts, earnings of $152,382 and was coming off a seventh in an Oct. 12 $32,000 claimer. He was claimed for $25,000 three races back.

Yodelen Dan finished second and My Man Murf was third. Lil Mitch ran the 1 ˝ miles on turf in 2:28.06.
