Yodelen Dan High Weight in Starter

ARCADIA, Calif. (Oct. 31, 2007) –
Yodelen Dan leads a contentious field of eight in Saturday’s $50,000
California Cup Starter Handicap at 1½ miles on turf at Oak Tree at Santa
Anita.
Aces Over is by Sharan, out of the
Wild Again mare Deuces Deuces, was bred by Miraleste, was foaled at Circle
H Ranch and is owned by Rosales, Stafford, Subadya, et al. The Barretts
graduate has one win in 10 starts, earnings of $19,690 and is coming off a
sixth in a $10,000 claimer Oct. 10.
General Bueno is by General
Meeting, out of the Ole mare Buena, was bred by owners Mr. and Mrs. Don
Barber and was foaled at Special T Thoroughbreds. He has two wins in 14
starts, earnings of $86,060 and is coming off a win in an Oct. 24 $25,000
claimer.
Iron Duke is by Cee’s Tizzy, out of
the Alysheba mare Alygria, was bred by Dale Pyle and David and Barbara
Meyers, was foaled at Harris Farms and is owned by Conquest Racing. He has
three wins in six starts, earnings of $64,720 and is on a three-race win
streak.
Lil Mitch is by Lil Tyler, out of
the Nijinsky’s Secret mare Asta Pasta, was bred by Jack Weinstein, was
foaled at Madera Thoroughbreds and is owned by Allen, Lindo, Meguiar, et
al. He has two wins in 27 starts, earnings of $122,382 and is coming off a
seventh in an Oct. 12 $32,000 claimer. He was fourth in the 2005 Cal Cup
Starter Handicap.
Made the Finals is by Event of the
Year, out of the Steinlen mare Top of Our Game and was bred by, foaled at
and is owned by Harris Farms. He has two wins in three stars, earnings of
$32,760 and is coming off a win in a Sept. 26 starter’s allowance.
My Man Murf is by Anziyan, out of
the Tropular mare Hilary, was bred by Total Return Stables, was foaled at
Creston Farm and is owned by Derenzis and Vanderham. He has three wins in
nine starts, earnings of $107,730 and is coming off a fourth in the Sept.
22 Pomona Derby after winning the Derby Trial.
Raise the Heat is by Unusual Heat,
out of the Raise a Champion mare Raise Rebelette, was bred by Barry
Abrams, was foaled at Old English Rancho and is owned by Capen and
Tjosvold. He has 13 wins in 49 starts, earnings of $312,049 and is coming
off a third when he was claimed for $32,000 Oct. 11.
Yodelen Dan is by Swiss Yodeler,
out of the Same Direction mare Domasco Danielle, was bred by owners Mr.
and Mrs. Larry Williams and was foaled at Pepper Oaks Farm. He has four
wins in 17 starts, earnings of $164,762 and is coming off a fifth in an
Oct. 13 optional claimer.
