Juvenile Fillies a Scramble

ARCADIA, Calif. (Oct. 31, 2007) – Three daughters of Unusual Heat are among the eight entries in Saturday’s $125,000 California Cup Juvenile Fillies for 2-year-old fillies at Oak Tree at Santa Anita.

Always in Style is by Lucayan Prince, out of the Silveyville mare Winning in Style, was bred by and foaled at Old English Rancho and is owned by E.W. and Judy Johnston. She is a maiden making her third start.

Cantina’s Rose is by Decarchy, out of the Seattle Dancer mare Cantina, was bred and owned by B&B Zietz Stables and was foaled at Magali Farms. She is coming off a maiden win in her second start Sept. 30.

Unbeaten Ice Lady is by Cat Thief, out of the Afleet mare Numero Uno, was bred by and foaled at Shields Thoroughbreds and is owned by Suarez Racing and Venneri. The $52,000 Barretts purchase has won both career starts and has earnings of $29,160.

Love Ya Bye is by In Excess, out of the Walter Willy mare Miss Nicolie, was bred by owner Ron Gomez and was foaled at NexStar Ranch. She won her only start Oct. 18 and has earnings of $25,800.

Runforthemoneybaby is by Unusual Heat, out of the Dynaformer mare Andover the Money, was bred by Abrams, Johnson, Nakkashian, Roberts, was foaled at Old English Rancho and is owned by Michael Bello and Mr. and Mrs. Larry Williams. The Barretts graduate has one win in four starts, earnings of $85,144 and is coming off a third in the Sept. 29 Oak Leaf Stakes.

Shes a Real Keeper is by Unusual Heat, out of the Slew’s Royalty mare Woodlyn Miss, was bred by owners Fanning and Burnett. She is a maiden making her third start.

Unusually Hot is by Unusual Heat, out of the Shanekite mare Cruella D, was bred by Edie Leone, foaled at Spedie Thoroughbreds and is owned by Edwards, Riordan and Walsh. The Barretts purchase is coming off a maiden win in her fourth start with earnings of $39,720.

Warren’s Appeal is by Bartok, out of the Ruhlmann mare Ruhloverbeethoven, was bred by owner Benjamin Warren and foaled at Warrens Thoroughbreds. She has one win in nine starts, earnings of $29,988 and is coming off a second in an Oct. 18 starter’s allowance.
