Juvenile Lures Stakes Winners
ARCADIA, Calif. (Oct. 31, 2007) –
Four stakes winners and five maidens are among the 14 entries in
Saturday’s $125,000 California Cup Juvenile for 2-year-olds at Oak Tree at
Santa Anita.
Bert’s Law is by Bertrando, out of
the Pirate’s Bounty mare Digby, was bred Marty and Pam Wygod, foaled at
River Edge Ranch and is owned by Curt and Lila Lanning. The $18,000
Barretts purchase has one win in three starts, earnings of $16,200 and is
coming off a third in an Oct. 6 starter’s allowance.
Byjohn is by Capsized, out of the
Two Punch mare Youmakemethorbaby, was bred by owner Gary Kazanjian and was
foaled at Special T Thoroughbreds. He has one win in two starts, earnings
of $21,422 and is coming off a sixth in the Oct. 8 Cavonnier.
California Blaze is by Unusual
Heat, out of the Compliment mare Sarah’s Echo, was bred by owner Charlotte
Wrather and was foaled at Cottonwood Ranch. He won his lone start Oct. 13
and has earnings of $33,540.
Dr Zaentz is by Unusual Heat, out
of the Oak Ridge mare Ameena, was bred by owner First Run Stables and
foaled at Pepper Oaks Farm. He is a maiden making his seventh start.
Flight Leader is by Bertrando, out of the Housebuster mare Midnight Angel,
was bred by William Peeples, foaled at Loeb Ranch and is owned by Craig,
Halo Farms and Magerman. The $90,000 Barretts purchase is coming off a win
in his second start Sept. 26 and has earnings of $26,200.
Guts is by Unusual Heat, out of the
Proud Irish mare Crème Carmela, was bred by owners David Abrams and Team
Green and foaled at Old English Rancho. He is a maiden making his fifth
start.
Harlene is by Decarchy, out of the
Chief’s Crown mare Tiara Glow, was bred by Magali Ventures, foaled at
Magali Farms and is owned by Claimboxdotcom, Royce Jaime Stable and W C
Racing. The $29,000 Barretts purchase is a maiden making his third start.
If It Stays Fair is by Sunday
Break, out of the Lyphard mare Arville, was bred by Coal Creek Farm, was
foaled at Shields Thoroughbreds and is owned by Kimberly Schaffer. The
Barretts graduate is coming off his maiden win Oct. 4 in his third start
and has earnings of $27,800.
My Redeemer is by Valid Wager, out
of the Broad Brush mare Hoist the Star and was bred by, owned and foaled
at Tommy Town Thoroughbreds. He has two wins in six starts, earnings of
$119,688 and is coming off a win in the Sept. 20 Gateway to Glory Stakes.
Nevada Worrier is by Lord Carson,
out of the Marquetry mare Preppy Squaw, was bred by owner Joseph Duffel
and was foaled at Duffel Farms The Barretts graduate has two wins in eight
starts, earnings of $99,019 and is coming off a win in the Oct. 8 Cavonier.
Sierra Sunset is by Bertrando, out
of the Pirate’s Bounty mare Toot Sweet, was bred by Marty and Pam Wygod,
was foaled at River Edge Farm and is owned by Lebherz, Mariani, Schmitt
and Wirth. The $40,000 Northern California Yearling Sale graduate has two
wins in six starts, earnings of $94,696 and is coming off a win in the
Sept. 15 Bay Meadows Juvenile.
Warrens Attack Cat is by Bartok,
out of the Quiet American mare Pinctada, was bred by owner Benjamin Warren
and foaled at Warrens Thoroughbreds. He is a maiden making his third
start.
Wise Mandate is by Perfect Mandate,
out of the Bold Badgett mare Baroness V Ullmann, was bred by S L U Inc.,
was foaled at Old English Rancho and is owned by Archa Racing. The $12,000
Barretts purchase has two wins in seven starts, earnings of $108,060 and
is coming off a win in the Jack Goodman Stakes.
Youarefun is by You and I, out of
the Housebuster mare Fun Project, was bred by owners Currin and Eisman and
was foaled at Old English Rancho. He is a maiden making his fourth start.
