Cal Cup Breakfast Draw Wednesday

ARCADIA, Calif. (Oct. 29, 2007) -- A portrait by renowned equine artist Fred Stone will be one of the major prizes available at a raffle that will be drawn Wednesday at the California Cup XVIII draw breakfast at Clockers’ Corner.

The Oak Tree Racing Association and the California Thoroughbred Breeders will host the breakfast, which will start at 10 a.m., followed by the post position draw at 10:45 and the raffle at 11.

Rosie Ybarra, popular host at the Clockers’ Corner breakfast nook, is donating the portrait, which was given to her by Stone. Ybarra said she also received a donation of $1,000 from an anonymous donor.

Other prizes include four $50 gift certificates for Damon’s Restaurant in Glendale and dinner for two at Santini’s in Pasadena.

The raffle benefits Jenny Jonsson, exercise rider for trainer Marcelo Polanco, who was injured in a training mishap at Del Mar. Raffle tickets are $5 each, or five for $20, and are available in Oak Tree’s racing office and at Clockers’ Corner. Grand prize is a free Racing Form and program for one year. Participants must be present to win.
