Cal Cup Early-bird Noms Close Monday

ARCADIA, Calif. (Aug. 14, 2007) – Early-bird nominations close Monday for the stakes events of California Cup XVIII, to be held Saturday, Nov. 3, at Oak Tree at Santa Anita.

The Cal Cup card is headed by the $250,000 Cal Cup Classic, presented by Smith Barney. Other stakes on the card are the $175,000 Cal Cup Mile, $150,000 Dodge/Donald Valpredo Cal Cup Sprint, $150,000 CTT/TOC Cal Cup Matron, $150,000 John Deere Cal Cup Distaff, $125,000 Cal Cup Juvenile, $125,000 Robert H. Walter Cal Cup Juvenile Fillies and $100,000 TVG Cal Cup Distance.

Subscriptions for the early-bird nominations for the Classic are $100 each and for the other stakes $50 each. Regular nominations, which close Oct. 25, are $1,000 each for the Classic and $500 for the other races.
