Spot the Diplomat Drops into Juvenile

ARCADIA, Calif. (Oct. 26, 2006) – Multiple stakes winner Spot the Diplomat is the likely favorite in Saturday’s $125,000 Bob Benoit California Cup Juvenile at Oak Tree at Santa Anita.

Freesgood is by Free House, out of the Housebuster mare Fun Project and was bred by owners Currin and Eisman. He won his third start Oct. 4.

Swiss Ski is by Swiss Yodeler, out of the Drone mare Lots of Stingers and was bred by owner Heinz Steinmann. He has one win in three starts and is coming off a fourth in the Norfolk Stakes.

Spot the Diplomat is by Worldly Manner, out of the Moscow Ballet mare Scare Tactics and was bred by owner Harris Farms. He has three wins in five starts, earnings of $206,280 and is coming off a third in the Oct. 8 Norfolk Stakes after winning the I’m Smokin and Graduation Stakes.

Super Image is by High Brite, out of the To B. or Not mare To B. Super, was bred by Vessels Stallion Farm and is owned by Theresa and Edward Denike. The $35,000 Northern California Yearling Sale purchase has a three-race win streak, earnings of $87,134 and is coming off an Oct. 11 allowance win.

Turquoise N Gold is by Officer, out of the Septieme Ciel mare L’Autre Monde, was bred by JMJ Racing and is owned by Zayat Stables. He has one win in four starts, earnings of $38,660 and is coming off a fourth in an Oct. 11 allowance.

Vice Admiral is by Bertrando, out of the Mountain Cat mare Whimsical Goddess, was bred by Marty and Pam Wygod and is owned by Halo Farms and Magerman. He is a maiden making his third start.

Seliman is by Devon Lane, out of the Naevus mare Heather and Rose, was bred by Lucas Racing and Dan Lucas and is owned by Lathrop Hoffman. The $35,000 Barretts purchase has one win in eight starts and is coming off a third in an Oct. 11 allowance.

The Supply Program is by Mizzen Mast, out of the Miswaki mare Grace Note, was bred by Ed and Sharon Hudon and is owned by Howard Siegel. He is a maiden making his fifth start and is coming off a seventh in an Oct. 7 $62,500 claimer.

Pirates Deputy is by Bertrando, out of the Deputy Minister mare Winter House, was bred by Marty and Pam Wygod and is owned by Shapiro, Tweedy and Villyard. He broke his maiden with a 4 ½ length win in the Gottstein Futurity Sept. 30.

Baby I’m Lonely is by Larry the Legend, out of the Nostalgia mare Evelyn’s Baby, was bred by Englekirk, Lewis and Mira Loma Thoroughbred Farm and is owned by Lewis and Lewis. He won a maiden $32,000 claimer in two starts.
