$50,000 William T. Pascoe III Cal Cup Starter Sprint

ARCADIA, Calif. (Nov. 6, 2005) – Bordonaro gave sire Memo his second winner of the day when he sped to an easy win in the $50,000 William T. Pascoe III California Cup Starter Sprint, the nightcap on Sunday’s Cal Cup XVI card.

Bordonaro is a 4-year-old gelding out of the Rajab mare Miss Excitement, was bred by owners Fred Carrillo and Daniel Cassella, is trained by Bill Spawr and ridden by Garrett Gomez. He has five wins in seven starts and earnings of $147,164.

The even-money favorite won by 2 ½ lengths and ran the six furlongs in 1:08.11, one-half second faster than Jet West ran in winning the Cal Cup Sprint four races earlier. Hello Fame was second and Stalking Tiger was third.
