ARCADIA, Calif. (Nov. 6, 2005) – Del Mar Yearling Sales graduate Time to Honor outlasted favored Top This and That to win Sunday’s $50,000 XTRA Sports 570 California Cup Starter Handicap at Oak Tree at Santa Anita.

Time to Honor is a 3-year-old gelding by Honor Grades, out of the stakes-winning Just the Time mare Timely View, was bred by David and Maion Christensen, is owned by Beardsworth or Decauwer or Lurie, was trained by Gary Stute and ridden by Tyler Baze.

A $25,000 Del Mar purchase in 2003, Time to Honor was claimed three races back for $40,000 and has two wins in six starts for earnings of $59,720.

Sent off at 7-1, Time to Honor ran the 1 ½ miles on turf in 2:27.46 and won by a half-length. Lukewarm favorite Top This and That was second and It’s Quite Unusual was third.
