Cal Cup Regular Noms Close Thursday

ARCADIA, Calif. (Oct. 21, 2005) – Regular nominations close Thursday, Oct. 27, for the eight stakes events of California Cup XVI, to be held Sunday, Nov. 6, at Oak Tree at Santa Anita.

The Cal Cup card is headed by the $250,000 Cal Cup Classic, presented by Smith Barney. Other stakes on the card are the $175,000 John C. Mabee Cal Cup Mile, $150,000 Dodge/Donald Valpredo Cal Cup Sprint, $150,000 CTT/TOC Cal Cup Matron, $150,000 John Deere Cal Cup Distaff, $125,000 Bob Benoit Cal Cup Juvenile, $125,000 Robert H. Walter Cal Cup Juvenile Fillies and $100,000 TVG Cal Cup Distance.

Regular nominations are $1,000 each for the Classic and $500 for the other races.
