Stakes-Winning Trio in Cal Cup Juvenile Fillies

ARCADIA, Calif. (Oct. 13, 2004) – Stakes winners Lunar Flight, Short Route and Kachina Dream are among the 13 entered in Saturday’s $125,000 Robert H. Walter California Cup Juvenile Fillies at Oak Tree at Santa Anita.

Sip One for Mom is by Bartok, out of the Dimaggio mare Hit One for Mom, was bred by Clydene Boots and is owned by Benjamin Warren. The $30,000 Barretts purchase won her fifth start Sept. 30.

Burning Affair is by Twin Spires, out of the Corporate Report mare Prospect Report, was bred by Caesar Dominguez and is owned by Ron Clark and Caesar Dominguez. He won his debut and most recently was third in the Black Swan Stakes.

Planning Surprises is by Event of the Year, out of the Blushing Groom mare Mischievous Ways, was bred by Mrs. John Mabee and is owned by Golden Eagle Farm. She is a maiden making her fourth start.

Hold the Game is by Game Plan, out of the Capital Idea mare Hold Your Capitol, was bred by Moresco & Moresco and is owned by Moger and Moresco. She won her third start and most recently was third in a Sept. 24 allowance.

Lunar Flight is by Flying Continental, out of the Eastern Echo mare Eastern Moon, was bred by Nancy Yearsley and is owned by Maurie Beaumont. The $32,000 Barretts purchase has two wins, including the Barretts Debutante, in three starts and $100,620 in earnings.

Miss Bobbie Quick is by Score Quick, out of the Mining mare Miss Bobbie Lynn, was bred by Bill Thomas and is owned by Paul Aguirre. The $17,000 Barretts purchase is a maiden making her fourth start.

Short Route is by Mud Route, out of the Phone Trick mare Short Call, was bred by owner Herrick Racing. She has two wins, including the Sept. 29 Cover Gal Stakes, and $84,495 in earnings.

Cee’s Irish is by Cee’s Tizzy, out of the Bold Ruckus mare Zandalusia, was bred by C-Punch Ranch and is owned by Betty and Rob Irvin. She is a maiden making her third start.

Crimson Kristine is by Truckee, out of the Mr. Integrity mare Crimson Pride, was bred by owner Gordon Severson. She is a maiden making her sixth start.

Kachina Dream is by Falstaff, out of the Shergar’s Best mare Anasazi Mud, was bred by owner Frank Edmunds. She has two wins, including the Sept. 22 Black Swan Stakes.

Lady Truffles is by Candi’s Gold, out of the Peaks and Valleys mare Great Plains Lady, was bred by T.A. Aroney and is owned by Janavar Thoroughbreds. She has been second in all three starts, including the Sept. 29 Cover Gal Stakes.

Home Ice is by Iam the Iceman, out of the Kennedy Road mare Hit a Homer Honey, was bred by Paul Nicoletti and is owned by George Hicker. She won her first start and was third in the Cover Gal.

Irish Mafia is by Via Lombardia, out of the Brief Truce mare Irish Truce, and was bred by owner Big Apple Racing. She is a maiden making her fifth start and was second in the Black Swan Stakes.
