CALIFORNIA CUP XII
California Cup XII will be held Saturday, November 3 at Santa Anita Park and co-hosts of the event which spotlights the California Thoroughbred racing and breeding industry the California Thoroughbred Breeders Association and the Oak Tree Racing Association are confident that Cal Cup Day again will be one of the premier racing days of the year in California.
All ten races on the card are exclusively for California-breds and the day offers competition for every class of runner, with purses totaling $1.275 million. All ten Cal Cup races will be simulcast to Northern California and it is anticipated that approximately 100,000 people statewide will see California Cup XII and that the handle should be between $15-$17 million.
In addition to the racing, California Cup has been a tremendous success because of the social events connected to it. Those activities will begin on Wednesday, Oct. 31, when a post position draw for the connections of all entrants will be held in the Clocker's Corner at Santa Anita Park. Another social highlight is the special infield party on race day for supporters of the California Thoroughbred industry, an event which annually has attracted more than 2,500 guests.
The complete list of races, with conditions for each, may be found on the next two pages of this booklet. If you have any questions regarding the California Cup XII races, please contact Michael J. Harlow in the Oak Tree racing office, at (626) 574-6472 or (800) 235-2128.
