Legislative Day at Applebite Farms

Joan and Arthur Rogers hosted a group of 50 for a farm tour and lunch at their Applebite Farms in French Camp June 9. Among the attendees were key legislators and members of their staffs from Sacramento, local Thoroughbred breeders, and CTBA board members and management.

The day included a visit to Applebite’s stallion barn where visitors were shown the young stallions Distinctive Cat and Western Fame. Guests also witnessed an ultrasound and mingled with mares and foals in Applebite’s spacious pastures. Following the farm tour, lunch was served and members of the CTBA board of directors, management and others involved in the industry shared their stories, background and scope of involvement in the Thoroughbred business. CTBA’s legislative advocate Bob Fox then introduced legislators and members of their staffs in attendance, including former State Senator Ken Maddy.
