Barretts Fall Sale, which includes a select yearling portion, set for Oct. 18 and 19.

A total of 77 yearlings—57 of which are California-bred are slated to sell in the selected portion of the Barretts October yearling sale Oct. 18 at the Hinds Pavilion located at Fairplex Park in Pomona. The selected session will lead off the auction followed immediately by the open section. There are 194 yearlings scheduled to go through the ring in the open section. A total of 271 yearlings are set to be sold on Monday and it is believed to be the largest selection of yearlings to be sold in California in one auction in over a decade. The following day the Horses of all ages sale will be conducted, featuring horses of racing age, broodmares, weanlings and stallions.

Some recent graduates of the October sale include Christmas Boy who has risen to the top of the sprinter ranks in California this year with an impressive victory in the Bing Crosby Breeders’ Cup Handicap at Del Mar.
