Cal-bred Trio in Los Angeles

INGLEWOOD, Calif. (May 7, 2008) -- California-bred stakes winners Bilo, Bonfante and High Standards are entered in Saturday’s $100,000 Grade III Los Angeles Handicap at Hollywood Park.

Bilo is by Bertrando, out of the Devil’s Bag mare Raffie’s Bag, was bred by Ed Nahem, foaled at River Edge Farm, is owned by Scott and Wayne Anastasi and Dan Capen and trained by Mike Mitchell. He has seven wins in 16 starts, earnings of $524,036 and is coming off a sixth in the Jan. 26 Sunshine Millions Classic.

Bonfante is by Fruition, out of the Mountain Cat mare Tahoma Cat, was bred by owners Tenbrink and Frankfurt Stables, foaled at Creston Farms and trained by Ron McAnally. He has 12 wins in 31 starts, earnings of $696,121 and is coming off a consecutive sprint wins.

High Standards is by High Brite, out of the Torsion mare Tomato Paste, was bred by and foaled at owner Harris Farms and is trained by Martin Jones. He has five wins in 14 starts, earnings of $251,297 and is coming off a second in the Apr. 4 Sensational Star.
