Cal-bred Pair in Shot of Gold

MINNETONKA, Minn. (Apr. 30, 2008) - California-breds Cry Me No River and Family Guy are entered in Saturday’s $50,000 Shot of Gold Stakes at Canterbury Park.

Cry Me No River is by Fine ‘n Majestic, out of the Synastry mare River of Tears, was bred by Curt and Lila Lanning, is owned by Average Joe’s Stables and is trained by Ted West. He has eight wins in 21 starts, earnings of $152,545 and is coming off a third when he was claimed for $12,500 Mar. 30.

Family Guy is by Western Fame, out of the Candi’s Gold mare Golden Josselin, was bred by and foaled at Applebite Farms, is owned by Adam and Paul Lewis and trained by Keith Bennett. The $30,000 Barretts purchase has six wins in 28 starts, earnings of $181,920 and is coming off a win in a Mar. 18 optional claimer.
