Rice ‘n Spice at Lone Star

- Rice ‘n Spice is the lone California-bred entered in Saturday’s
$50,000 Irving Distaff Stakes at 7 ½ furlongs on the Lone Star Park turf
course.
Rice ‘n Spice is by Cherokee
Colony, out of the Seattle Song mare Sugar ‘n Oats, was bred by Hertel
Farms and is owned and trained by Mindy Willis.
She has four wins in 13 starts,
earnings of $51,640 and is coming off a ninth in the Apr. 5 Jersey Lily.
