Bay Meadows Lures Bold Chieftain, Now Victory

SAN MATEO, Calif. (Apr. 23, 2008) - California-breds Bold Chieftain and Now Victory renew their rivalry in Saturday’s $125,000 Bay Meadows Handicap at 1 1/16 miles on the turf.

Bold Chieftain is by Chief Seattle, out of the Seattle Dancer mare Hooked on Music, was bred by Langheim, Morey, Robinson and Hall, was foaled at Cardiff Stud Farm and is trained by Bill Morey Jr. He has nine wins in 17 starts, earnings of $553,025 and is coming off a win in the Mar. 22 March Madness Handicap.

Now Victory is by Sharp Victor, out of the Dynaformer mare Zoelu, was bred by and foaled at Harris Farms, is owned by Harris Farms and Per Antonsen and is trained by Dean Pederson. He has nine wins in 28 starts, earnings of $442,546 and is coming off a second in the March Madness Handicap.
