Unusual Heat Ranks No. 1

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Apr. 18, 2008) -- California stallion Unusual Heat ranks on top of the Bloodhorse.com list of leading turf sires in North America through Apr. 17.

The 18-year-old son of Nureyev has 15 winners out of 48 turf runners with earnings of $883,390, 49 percent of his progeny’s overall earnings. Kentucky-based War Chant was a distant second with $565,555 in progeny earnings on turf.

Unusual Heat is owned by the Unusual Heat Syndicate, which includes Madeline Auerbach and Barry Abrams. He stands at Old English Rancho, Craig Allen farm manager.
